General information
-
Rumbo is a learning platform offering experiential, creative and mastery-based resources for curious families, educators, worldschoolers and home learners. Our materials blend art, nature, life skills and contextual learning into fun, accessible and family-friendly formats. Some resources are curriculum-aligned, but we mainly pride ourselves on how we offer rich, holistic and creative experiences that traditional curricula overlooks.
-
Our resources are designed for parents, home educators, teachers and community groups seeking hands‑on, creative and engaging learning experiences that nurture curiosity and confidence. While Rumbo has been created with children aged 2 to 10 in mind (covering Early Years and Primary stages), we recognise that development doesn’t always follow a straight line. Every child learns differently and abilities don’t fit neatly into boxes. We are all beautifully unique - so if your child is older, younger or simply learning at their own pace, you may still find our materials inspiring and adaptable to their needs.

Cut neatly along the dashed lines.
Fold carefully along the solid lines.
If you’re gluing fronts to backs, let the glue dry fully before laminating. This prevents the laminator from heating the glue and damaging the ink.

Our website has a simple filter system to help you locate resources quickly:
Search by Subject: For example, Nature, PSHE, Reading, Travel, Science, Wellbeing and more.
Search by Focus: If you’ve seen an activity on Instagram or know the theme you’re after, use the focus filter for more specific results. Examples include: Body Safety, Chess, Financial Literacy, Gut Health, Explorer Cards, Artists, Responsibility and much more!

The beauty of home education is that your time is flexible and belongs to you. There is no fixed timetable you must follow - what matters is that your child receives a suitable and meaningful education. Some families prefer short, focused bursts of learning, while others weave education into everyday life through projects, outings and conversations.
Rumbo’s resources have been carefully curated to complement any home educating schedule, whether you prefer structured lessons or a more fluid, experiential approach.
As a general guide, many home educators aim for the following weekly learning times, depending on age and needs. Remember, these hours include exercise and sports, clubs and groups, classes, hobbies & interests, nature time, connection time, mental health, self care and regulation priorities, chores, cooking, culture, responsibilities and jobs/work experience for older children:
Ages 5-7: 10+ hours per week
Short sessions (20-30 minutes) work best; focus on purposeful play, collaboration, nature and exploration plus literacy and numeracy.Ages 8-11: 15+ hours per week
Longer blocks of 45-60 minutes; balance ‘core’ subjects with critical thinking, creative and physical activities.Ages 12-14: 20+ hours per week
More independent study; introduce project‑based learning, to develop autonomy and deepen critical thinking skills.Ages 15–16: 25+ hours per week
Includes preparation for any exams, vocational pathways or work experience; encourage self‑directed learning and research.
Included in these hours, most families find that 1-2 resources per week from Rumbo are plenty. These add sparks of creativity, enrichment and variety without overwhelming your schedule.

The colours look different when printed.
Printers vary in colour output. Go to settings and try “Best Quality” or “High Quality” mode.

Calibrate your printer: Use your manufacturer’s calibration tools to align colour accuracy.
For economy, print in grayscale if preferred.
